On June 8-11, 2023, young people from across Mississippi and the southeast US will gather in Raymond, MS to build skills to help them lead change in their communities.
Hosted by Teen Health Mississippi and our partners, the Mobilizing Youth Summit (MYSummit) provides young people with an opportunity to increase awareness around issues affecting youth in their communities. Young people will collaborate with other youth advocates, local and state leaders, entrepreneurs, policy experts, and social activists to identify paths to move Mississippi forward, especially as it relates to advocating for change, organizing, mobilizing efforts, and lobbying policymakers. Attendees will participate in immersive workshops, thought-provoking roundtables, and inspiring keynotes, all while building their network of fellow changemakers who are working toward change in their local communities.
“I have always felt the assignment on my life to change my generation for the better. I have felt the urge to lead and serve in more ways that I can describe,” said Kayle Amos, a senior at Brandon High School and Mississippi Youth Council member. “I would also say that my past three years working with Teen Health Mississippi has only ignited the will I have to change my generation for the better. I am excited for the opportunity to attend MYSummit for further education and ignition.”
Teen Health Mississippi will lead this high-energy, interactive conference with fresh approaches to empowering our next generation of advocacy, business, and community leaders.
We encourage all youth who meet the eligibility requirements to apply and join the pipeline of future leaders who will impact communities across the state. Students of diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply. Applications are being evaluated on a rolling basis beginning April 1, 2023 and will remain open until the program has reached capacity.
