LGBTQ 101: Get The Basics! is part 1 of our 3-part series for the LGBTQ training. There are no pre-requisites for this workshop. This training equips our participants with:

  • Knowledge of the Issues. An understanding of the LGBTQ community will help participants connect with the lives and experiences of LGBTQ students.
  • Terminology to Support All Students. Becoming knowledgeable of key terms is the first step in helping participants respond to LGBTQ youth in culturally appropriate ways.
  • An Examination of Personal Values. Examining personal values and beliefs will ensure participants understand how their world-view may impact their approach to LGBTQ youth.
  • Knowledge of Pronouns. Learning pronouns will help supportive adults interact with LGBTQ youth in ways that are thoughtful and in ways that respect the identity of LGBTQ youth.

Registration begins at 12:00 PM and the training will start at 1:00 PM. Light snacks and coffee will be provided. We encourage you to reserve your seat in advance. This training is FREE and open to the public. CEUs are available for this training. CEUs are free for CHART teachers only.
