More2Me, a program of Teen Health Mississippi, is an innovative, computer-based experience that addresses goal setting, social networking, and sexual-reproductive and mental health skills building for youth in the juvenile justice system. More2Me utilizes human-centered design interviewing strategies, motivational interviewing, roleplaying, and colorful imagery to connect youth with vetted, high-quality information and curated content about decision-making, safer sex skills, improved communication, healthy relationships, goal-setting, and so much more.
The program is designed to increase young people’s focus on personal goals and the motivation to achieve them; and to decrease teen pregnancy and STIs.
During More2Me, trusted adults (called goal coaches) are trained on how to facilitate the sessions. They help youth identify relevant goals and choose when and how to pursue them, and each session includes resilience statements to encourage and motivate the young people. The program itself uses many different types of media, including video, role play, games, and discussions to explore and pursue health-related goals.
