Hey there, everyone! I’m so excited to introduce you to a super cool person—me! I’m Amber, and I wear two hats—one as the Director of Communications for Teen Health Mississippi, and the other as a graphic designer and illustrator.
Let’s dive into my story a bit!
Where I’m From and What I Wanted to Be
I was born and raised in the metro area. Back when I was a teen, I had big dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Picture me sketching stylish outfits and dreaming about seeing them on the runway.
Dreams vs. Reality
Fast forward to today, and my job is a bit different from fashion design. Now, I’m the Director of Communications at Teen Health Mississippi. The title might sound fancy, but the heart of my job is still all about creativity. I’m also a graphic designer and illustrator on the side, because I just can’t get enough of making things look cool.
How Did I Get Here?
I spent six years in the media industry, learning skills that I wanted to use to make a positive difference. Enter Teen Health Mississippi—the perfect place for me to combine my passion for design and creativity with making a real impact on my community.
Favorite Part of My Job
The coolest thing about what I do? Using my creativity and problem-solving skills to make a difference. I like putting my imagination into action and seeing positive changes happen right in front of me.
Advice to My 15-Year-Old Self
If I could hop into a time machine and talk to my younger self, here’s what I’d say: “Hey, you don’t need to have everything figured out by the time you graduate high school. Life is a journey, not a race. And one day, you’ll finally get that band t-shirt collection you’ve always wanted.”
So, to all of our readers: keep dreaming big, stay curious, and remember—it’s okay not to have all the answers. Life is an adventure, and you’re just getting started!
